Paris in the Fall… a brutal murder at the Palais Royale. When Nico Collard is invited to interview statesman Pierre Carchon, she finds herself inextricably drawn into a terrifying conspiracy.  Meanwhile, George Stobbard sits outside a corner cafe, enjoying the last days of vacation before entering the grind at a law firm in the States, when a bomb explodes inside, and he becomes inextricably pulled into the intrigue surrounding the explosion…

 

Broken Sword is a fifteen minute serial narrative which functions as a layered adventure mystery for web content.  The thirteen episodes are about an epic journey into the mysteries of an artifact, and the cult and sinister forces that seek to harness its power, but the true subject of the story is its two unlikely detectives, and the bond they form, coming together from opposite sensibilities to become a dynamic team that finds purpose and courage in facing deadly foes to uncover truths and justice.

 

Plotting from the story of the acclaimed video game, Broken Sword: The Series, strips away the point and click discovery obstacles from the narrative, to bring the adventure tale to a broader audience, while adding to and enhancing the dramatic and cinematic aspects of the original, in a simple, yet visually sophisticated structure that web series have rarely seen.
The first season of thirteen episodes details the first partnership between an aloof law school graduate and an ambitious young news reporter, beginning in Paris, and jaunting to points across the globe.  While dramatizing their potential romantic relationship, as well as other colorful characters they meet along the way, the story structures itself around an unsolved murder and clues leading to the highly secretive Templar cult, and ultimately the mythical Broken Sword itself…
